Turn that loud shit OFF! I've heard that more than once in my lifetime, but the fact is, I like it loud. And, I am in major like with KORN. Ever since I heard Shoots and Ladders about four years ago, I knew there was something special about KORN. They are indeed loud and at times, angry and dark. But maybe that's where the magic comes from.
Jonathan Davis, angst-master-scream-rocker, had a not-so-pleasant childhood. His home life sucked, he was sexually abused and also ridiculed. Let's just say I can relate. And, there is nothing more awesome than someone who takes deep psychological torture and turns it into something positive. He's working through his "shit" while helping others. For that, he gets a mega rave review from me!
CIRCUS: To motivate them? Wake them up and give them hope?
JONATHAN: After one show a girl came to me and told me her brother was molesting her. I told her to tell all his friends about it, and see what happened. She came up to me later at another show, and said he stopped. Just knowing that I can help our fans through shit is the best. I wish I'd had someone there to do that for me when I really needed it.
